How Pillow Plates are used for heat recovery: 36,800 MBTUH per year

October 22, 2019

Almost all manufacturing processes require lots of energy, which results in waste heat. One of these processes is in the papermaking industry.

A significant amount of waste heat is generated as a by-product of the papermaking process. Most of this heat cannot be reused directly in the process as it has a high level of humidity and/or contains unwanted gaseous or particulate contamination.

Heat recovery equipment is a key element of energy-efficient mill operations, providing:

  •  Competitiveness through energy savings
  • Greenhouse gas emissions reduction
  • Reduced boiler load

This article of the first issue of Heat Exchanger World Magazine describes how this can be achieved by using Pillow Plates.
