Position Summary:

As a Laser Welding Operator, you will work as part of the Laser Welding team.  You will be responsible for the set-up and operation of a CNC laser welding machine to produce products meeting customer quality requirements.  Take pride and ownership of all duties as if the company was your own and keep the customer’s interests in mind which may include working overtime as needed. Maintain and promote a positive attitude and work environment.

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Position Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate fork lifts, cranes, laser welding machines, and all other equipment and tools applicable to the job duties

  • Select proper materials, clean, prepare and laser weld raw stainless steel sheet to customer specifications

  • Must be able to work towards ASME qualifications and, once qualified, maintain those qualifications per Omega standards

  • Must be able to follow Omega and ASME guidelines when filling out paperwork and ASME Travelers

  • Assist and guide others as necessary to ensure proper training and quality levels are maintained

  • Maintain high levels of quality in all tasks performed

  • Must work as a team and contribute to each other’s success. This includes collaborating and working together, across all departments, on issues and checking each other’s fit-ups to accomplish assigned tasks

  • Prepare and crate finished product to customer specifications as needed

  • Regularly lift or move materials

  • Ensures work areas are clean and orderly

  • Complies with all safety rules and regulations

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Qualifications:

  • Basic blue print reading
  • Ability to read tape measures, depth gages, micrometers and other basic measurement tools

  • Must remain flexible and adaptable to changing situations and customer requirements

  • Exceptional attendance and punctuality

  • Prolonged standing, reaching, bending, hammering and lifting

  • Ability to work with and communicate well with others

  • Able to work off shift and overtime as necessary

Preferred Skills: 

  • Basic TIG welding / tacking

  • Fork lift and overhead crane use

  • Strong computer skills or willingness to learn

  • Familiarity with stainless steel

  • Familiarity with CNC machines and programs

  • Excellent time management skills to ensure CNC machines are constantly running
